Trilogia a Nova York (I)

Ja he tornat de vacances... D'aqui a tres horetes entro de nou al restaurant.
Ha passat molt ràpida aquesta setmana, i hi han mil coses a explicar així k avui n'explicaré unes quantes només i ja aniré actualitzant!

Com ja sabeu vaig anar a veure a l'Ares i a la Sabina a Nova York!
Han sigut uns dies increïbles on no hem parat, tot i el fred que hi feia. Tota la setmana amb temperatures rosant a la baixa els 0ºC i amb algun dia que van arribar a pronosticar -11ºC.

Només arribar el vespre de diumenge, em van ensenyar el plàning que m'havien preparat!
Una passada com s'ho han currat per ensenyar-me tota la ciutat en 5 dies! I costa de creure, com l'hem complert casi tot! :D

Dilluns al matí ens vam trobar amb l'Alba, una amiga de l'Ares, a la Grand Central Terminal. I des d'allà ja vam anar a visitar un lloc prou curiós a Queens. Un cementiri amb unes vistes privilegiades de l'skyline de Nova York.

Després de dinar en un grec, i tot buscant una cafeteria on resguardar-nos un rato del fred, vam anar a parar a un parc d'escultures.
Un cop vist ens en vam anar fins a Times Square! Imagineu tota la contaminació lumínica de Barcelona concentrada en posem tres illes de cases, era ben bé com si fos de dia!

Havent sopat, vam anar a veure un concertillu al Rockwood on vaig conèixer en Pep, un altre amic de l'Ares i la Sabina.

I tornant a casa amb el metro em van ensenyar un petit secret dels que amaga la ciutat. Una parada fantasma amagada (City Hall) que es troba al final de la línia 6 de metro.
Es veu que la van tancar, però que si et quedes al metro un cop tothom baixa a Brooklyn Bridge - City Hall i fas el loop que fa el metro en canviar de sentit, la pots veure il·luminada.

 

Dimarts va ser un dia ben complert també! Vam començar al Museu d'Història Natural on vam passar el matí veient l'espectacle del planetari, milers d'animals, dinosaures, minerals, "calendaris Maies" i una mica de tot!

Tot sortint d'allà vam anar a donar una volta per Central Park, que estava tot pelat per l'hivern. Passejant per Strawberry Fields vam veure el memorial de John Lennon.
Una mica més lluny uns canons de neu (que es podrien haver estalviat per que al cap de dos dies va nevar) donaven un toc hivernal al parc.

Caminant caminant es va fer fosc, i aprofitant el moment vam anar a creuar el riu amb un telefèric des d'on hi havien unes vistes impressionants de part de la ciutat! I en acabar de sopar, ens en vam anar a veure dos concertillus més d'uns amics seus que tocaven molt bé tot i el fred que fotia al local! Però abans vam ensopegar amb l'edifici Chrysler! Impressionant!

I això és tot per avui! Que sinó faré tard a la feina tot just tornant de vacances! XD
Demà intentaré explicar-vos-en una mica més!!

I've already came back from my holidays... In three hours I must go to work again to the restaurant.
Time flew this week, and there are thousands of things to tell. So I will only tell some of them today and I will keep posting!

As you know, I went to visit some friends of mine, Ares and Sabina, that are living in New York!

It had been some incredible days that, even with the cold, we hadn't stopped a second. We had been around 0ºC all week, and one thay we were supposed to be at -11ºC.

Once we met, Sabina and Ares show me a nonstop schedule that they prepared to me for the 5 days! They had everything planned! And It’s hard to believe how we completed most of it! :D

Monday morning we met Alba, an Ares’ friend, at Grand Central Terminal. After we went to visit a curious place in Queens. A graveyard with some good views of NY’s skyline.

After a greek lunch, and while we were looking for a coffee shop were to get warmer, we arrived to a sculpture park.

Once we had seen it, we went to Times Square! Try to imagine all the light pollution of Barcelona all together at the same spot. We visited it at night, but it was as if it was 12 o’clock in the morning!

After dinner, we went to a jazz concert at Rockwood were I met Pep, another friend of them.

And coming back home, at the subway, they showed me a little city secret. A ghost hidden platform (City Hall), that it is at the very end of the line 6.

The authorities closed it because there was not too many people using it, but if you stay on the wagon after everyone jump off on Brooklyn Bridge – City Hall, you can see it illuminated while the train make the loop to start again. 

Tuesday was a busy day too! We started at the American Museum of Natural History where we saw the planetarium’s show, thousands of animals, dinosaurs,  minerals, Maya’s calendar, and some other things!

Once we went out of the museum we visited Central Park without a leave because of the winter. Walking through Strawberry Fields we saw the John Lennon’s Memorial.

Night meet us walking, and taking advantage of it we crossed the river with the Roosevelt Island Tramway, seeing some amazing views of the city at night!

Just after this we went to dinner, and to see two more concerts of jazz of some friends of them, in the coldest bar of NY. jejeje But before the concerts we had time enough to see the Chrysler Building! Amazing!

And that’s all by now! That I’ll be late at my first working day after holidays! XD
